Either can be "better" than the other, depending on what it is used for.
If you are harvesting the agave cactus to make mescal or cutting your way through a jungle, the machete is better.
If you are in hand-to-hand combat, a Japanese sword (katana) is probably better, as long as you are trained to use it correctly and effectively.
A kodachi, a machete, a corn knife, a brush knife, a bayonet.
no chucky is more powerful. jason is taller and has a sword. Jason carries a large machete, and is considerably stronger than Chucky in my opinion. To take out Chucky all you would really have to do is punt him.

Raniel Keith Fabroa said that the pen is mightier than the sword. because the mightier is better or bigger than the sword.
There is no best sword in the world. The world always has better swords than in the past. But there has never been a best sword.
Despite the fact that California has extremely strict weapon laws (just like New York) you can own just about any sword legally. The only exception are sword canes. They are illegal in several US States.
Yes, it is in the terms of strength and accuracy but the normal sword is faster than the long sword. But you would be better off with a scimitar because it more accurate (in slash) and has a better strength bonus than a short sword and just as fast as one. Use a long sword for stronger, more accurate, but slower stap and slash attacks. Use the scimitar for faster slash attacks And never use the normal sword because it is not as strong, accurate, or fast as the other types of swords.

there is the master sword and that is the best sword in the game. (it should have been the best in every game because it is the sword that is evils bane but apparently some rocking eating monsters can make a better one!)
Medieval swords were much longer and used for slashing. The Roman infantry swords were shorter, and although Roman cavalry used a longer sword, they were still shorter than Medieval swords. The Roman sword was intended primarily for stabbing. It may be impossible to say which was better. In Medieval times armies were smaller than in Roman times because no one could afford to maintain the huge standing armies which once made the Roman sword so effective in battle. I think that each was the right sword for its time.
