Here is one reasonable way to answer this question. Whether or not anything about our experience is predetermined is really completely irrelevant. Just realize the inevitable: nothing is predetermined by us. Live within the freedom that you believe you have, and make the best decisions you can make. If there are forces that are purposefully intervening in your life, you are powerless to make them do your bidding. If you believe such forces exist and you can influence them, deal with them according to your faith, conscience, best judgment, or any combination of them.
Yes, the free will of man allows him to choose who or what he will worship or serve. It is mans free will that determines his eternal destiny.

#1 - A Question of this calibre would be in the realms of Philosophy but I personally believe (which may be highly debated in which case I'm glad to oversee) that the destiny of all of us are the decesions that everyone of us makes in our daily lives which can have a consequence be good or bad but see it like this: If one man can change one aspect of our lives then we each have the power within ourselves to change the world but the fate of all of us is dependant on what we do. But from a scientific approach Man will continue to change and adapt as we have always done and we could adapt so much we may evolve or devolve into something which we can't explain as man/human. But I leave you with this: The destiny of the whole is predetermined by the actions of the One. #2 - Man was created for one purpose and one purpose only, to glorify God in everything we do. Our destiny is to fulfill that purpose.
