In most respects, yes.
There will be differences because of design differences, but its the same function in both cases. In small ships and boats a truck engine is simply dropped into the ship with the different power couplings. In most freighters and larger vessels, the diesel engines are much largers than any truck would use.
There is not a 350 engine known as a "big block". If the caprice and the truck are the same year it should fit perfectly.
the block and heads should be the same, but the manifolds will be diferent.
No.
No
The casting block number indicates that it could have come from a number of vehicles that have a GM 350 small block from 1985 to 1997. Suburban, corvette, camaro, ect. The same block is also used on several marine applications
the only real diff is 454 has a longer through on crank the appearance is all the same is it a car block or truck block a truck block deck height is higher than car block manifolds wont interchange or distributor if its a truck block throw it away it will say truck on the back below where trans bolts most likely a 454 and if u really want to know call the parts stor they will tell uwere to look for casting #. these engine's are no good unless u think u r going to run more than 500 hp or in a truck u r defeating the power to weight ratio concept.
no
nope
externally, they are the same. The engine mounting holes on the block are the same. the motor mounts themselves might be different though.
both are same block, but the 5.8 has been bored for larger pistons. the cams will interchange but you must time engine to what ever cam u use so if you use 5 cam in 5.8 block, u must time to 5,
I believe it is of the same color as land engine oil
No, normally that is the only part that is the same.
