Is it ok in Christianity to get married in a chapel?
Yes it is OK. Nothing in Christianity states were someone can and cannot get married (although there is obvious reasons not to get marries some places). I was married on the beach in Miami by my Pastor and I have been to weddings in chapels, courthouses, homes, and historic venues. As long as God is the focus of your wedding and marriage then I really don't think God is too picky about where you get married.

Marriage is a legal status. The state allows clergy to perform marriages as long as the parties have obtained a civil marriage license and it's signed by the officiating clergy. That is the only way marriage is "recognized' in the United States. No one can possibly know what "god recognizes".

A wedding that complies with the Holy Bible permits the couple to be joined by God and be free from sinning against God's laws. There is nothing illegal about a non-civil wedding by a member of a recognized religions Rabbi, Priest or Minister. One just cannot have the legal benefits that only come with a civil ceremony. Married by a proper religious representative is a proper marriage in God's Law whether or not it is a 'civil' wedding. This is a matter of personal choice, not government regulation. It is not illegal to have a non-civil marriage, the couple just will not qualify for certain government programs that they may be better off without to survive. Consult with your spouse, decide if a marriage in God's eyes fulfills your needs you then need to consider the benefits vs the losses of a civil union. One can be wed both religious and civil by the same person and ceremony too. The options are what is best for the couples survival and their religious conscience with God's arrangement.
