Shetlands are a breed of pony.
There is no such thing as a 'miniature Shetland' pony. You have either a Miniature horse or a Shetland pony. Mini's should never be ridden by anyone ever, they have fragile spines that can be hurt by direct weight. They can however pull a small pony cart with one or two adults in it. Shetlands are a breed of small pony that are very strong and make a great first pony for a kid. They can also pull a cart if trained correctly.
Pony is a horse under 14hh (hh is 4 inch increments measured to the horse's withers) but miniature horse is a type like draft or riding horse. The breeds that tend to classify as miniature horses are Shetlands and Falabella
Grasses, hay and fruit and veggie treats, just like any other pony or horse does.

How fast a horse, pony, or miniature eats depends completely on the individual. A paint horse will, of course, eat MORE than a miniature because it is bigger.
No, mules are unable to breed, no matter what gender.
You can tell if your pony is getting large or if she starts to be more protective of her area.
