I am guessing by the question you want either of these stats to be able to start the furnace, without using a relay. As long as you are using the same control power supply for both the answer is yes. Use the same connections on both if that is what you are trying to do.

How do you hook up your thermostat to your furnace?

2 wires to the "R" and "W" terminals on the furnace. Usually the thermostat has similar terminals. If you have air conditioning, then there are 5 terminals to contend with. Look for a wiring diagram on the internet.

What are the Problems with an electric resistance furnace?

Every Electrical Furnace run by Electrical Current. Without electricity we can't use any type electric furnace. Sometechnical knowledge must be required for maintenance of electric furnace. Spare parts availability like Heating elements/resistance wire, Thermostat/Temperature controller (maybe Digital or Blind controller, Contactor, Insulators etc.

How does an electric furnace work?

The operation of the furnace depends upon the thermostat, which is a simple unit that like a thermometer. which has set at a particular temperature. If this value falls below the set level on the thermostat, then the house starts to become colder, which alerts the electric furnace that is usually situated in the basement of a building. The heated coil in turn heats the temperature of the air around it. This air is then routinely blown into the house through a blower, the pressure that is exerted by the blower on the heated air warms it further. This air is blown into the house and the uncomfortably low temperature rises to a very pleasing level. The cold air that was initially present in the house replaces the hot air in the electric furnace

What is direct arc electric furnace?

An Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) is a furnace that heats charged material by means of an electric arc.Arc furnaces range in size from small units of approximately one ton capacity (used in foundries for producing cast ironproducts) up to about 400 ton units used for secondary steelmaking. Arc furnaces used in research laboratories and bydentists may have a capacity of only a few dozen grams. Industrial electric arc furnace temperatures can be up to 1,800 °C, (3272 °F) while laboratory units can exceed 3,000 °C. (5432 °F) Arc furnaces differ from induction furnaces in that the charge material is directly exposed to an electric arc, and the current in the furnace terminals passes through the charged material.

Difference between power and furnace transformer?

Power transformer is used step up or down the voltage for the electricity transmission while furnace transformer is used to melt the metals and ores in the electric furnace.

Your payne furnace does not turn on when you move the thermostat?

i have a model 125u19 payne furnace i move the thermostat but nothing comes on in the furnace and the pilot light is lit

How do you know if you have a single or 2 stage furnace?

Look at the furnaces low voltage thermostat connections, W are the heat terminals. If you have W1 and W2 with wires connected to both it is 2 stage. As long as you have W1 and W2 at the thermostat also and the same color wires are landed there. A 2 stage furnace will operate with a single stage stat but less efficiently.

Is a programmable thermostat good to use with a heat pump system?

A programmable thermostat works fine with a heat pump. Just remember that a heat pump does not heat as fast as a furnace because of the lower BTU ratings so do not set the thermostat as far back as you normally would. Also make sure to buy a thermostat that has heat pump terminals.

do you have to have a thermostat for an outdoor furnace?

Yes, a thermostat is required for an outdoor furnace. I recommend going to http://www.buycheapr.com/us/result.jsp?ga=us11&q=outdoor+thermostats for discounted thermostat.

Divice for regulating furnace heat?

There is always a wall thermostat for regulating furnace heat.

How can you test thermostat in your furnace?

Set thermostat to desired temperature; lets say, 70 degrees Fahrenheit, a few seconds will go by then the furnace should activate. Once the furnace heats the room to the set temperature the furnace should shut off.

How do you change home AC and heat pump thermostat?

It's easier than you think. First, turn off the breaker to the furnace. Then remove the thermostat from the wall, paying close attention to which wires are hooked to what terminals. The terminals are labeled with letters, and are about 99% universal in the industry. They are most likely color coded(R=red, Y=yellow...)But just make sure you re-wire the same way it was before, so you furnace is getting the same imput as the old stat. If you have wires or terminals that don't match up go ahead and schedule a service call, but definitely try it first. It can be as easy as 4 color coded wires.

How do you install a home thermostat?

Pretty simple, really. They typically have 3 wires, labelled to match terminals on the furnace, with pass through controls to the AC. Since the furnace fan is used to blow AC.Buy a programmable and read the instructions. If you need to fish the wire through a wall, that's the the trickiest part.If you have an OLD furnace, and you still need to ask this, you should probably get a por to do it.

How is your endocrine system like the thermostat in your house?

The negative feedback system. It works much the way a thermostat works. When the temperature in a room drops below a set level, the thermostat signals the furnace to turn on. Once the furnace has raised the temp in the room to the set level, the thermostat signals the furnace to shut off. It will continue to stay off until the thermostat signals that the temp has dropped again.

Why was power lost to a heat and air thermostat?

The power to the thermostat comes from the transformer in the furnace or air handler whichever you have. 1) the power to the furnace/AH is off, 2) the control fuse that protects the transformer is blown, 3) the transformer is defective, 4) the wire between the furnace and the thermostat got cut.
