A eel is a fish
Yes. Both of the I's have a short I sound, as in fin and fish.
The short finned eel is a 'catadromous' fish. As an adult it migrates out into the Ocean where it spawns/breeds. The young 'elvers' then make their way back into the freshwater rivers and lakes in New Zealand and SE Australia where they feed and grow until they too are adult and then they head back to the Ocean from whence they came to do it all over again.
The I in fish has a short I vowel sound as in fin and wish.
The long fin eel lives in lots of locations, it lives in the Tonga Trench in Tonga, it also lives in the streams of New Zealand.
On a dolphin and most fish the fin behind the dorsal fin is the tail fin. Some fish, such as knife fish, have no dorsal fin or tail fin. Dolphins of course are mammals, not fish.
An eel is a fish.
The tail fin of a fish (the caudal fin) is a fish's means of propulsion through the water.
'fin' is short for Finnish :) Finnish is a language used in Finland, for a little bit of extra information :)
It is eel like fish. Fishes and also eel fish,
The fin on the top/back of all fish is called the "Dorsal Fin."
