Yes even if they are expensive. Normal shampoos are made to be cheap and just make the hair look the way you want it to for now. Speciality shampoos do this too but they make your hair feel the way you want it to too and do it for longer. They don't leave a build up of product on your hair either.

**edit**

The above isn't necessarily true. For example L'Oreal's high street shampoo's have EXACTLY the same formula as their expensive top-of-the-range Kerastase line.

As with most soaps, toothpastes, and deodorants, almost all shampoo and conditioner formulas are the same, I mean how much stuff can you put in a conditioner to make it different anyway!?

Most of the "magic" ingredients you're paying for in a specialty formula, are in such low concentrations, that they will have virtually no effect. So in effect you're throwing your hard earned money away. The only reason to pick a more expensive shampoo or conditioner, is if you LOVE the smell. Which is a great reason.

But Tresemmé, Pantene, Herbal Essences, as well as Kerastase, TIGI, Paul Mitchell, they're all the same when it comes down to it.

The reason they can advertise these WONDERFUL MAGICAL horrendously expensive shampoos is that they only have to have one case of improvement during testing, maybe out of millions, to legally say "Yes, it will make your hair bouncy/shiny/ curly/straight" Even if this one positive result out of 999,999 negative ones, isn't even because of their product! Most of it is just smoke and mirrors, and clever marketing.

Don't believe all the hype. :-)

Is there a shampoo that will restore your hair to its normal color?

No there isn't a shampoo that will do that for you but if you use dandruff shampoos like Head & Shoulders it will take some of the colour out for you. If you want to get it all removed you will have to get it stripped out in the salon.

What is the best curly hair shampoo?

The absolute BEST for curls is DevaCurl No-Poo from DevaChan! It's made for curly hair and does not do what normal shampoos do. Normal shampoos lather and strip natural oils from your hair, making it frizzy and unmanageable most times.

Alkaline PH shampoos are shampoos with a lower PH balance to help prevent damage to your hair. For example, bleach used to lighten hair has a PH close to 8 and your hair is naturally lower, around a 4. An Alkaline PH shampoo will help neutralize the bleach in your hair, preventing damage.

The pH of shampoo?

Most shampoos are buffered to slightly acidic. Normal skin pH is between 4 and 6.5. If you wash with a non-acidic shampoo it can remove the natural protection that this affords your skin. Since healthy skin is acidic, it can prevent the growth of many bacteria and fungi.

Which is the best shampoo for the hair?

The best hair shampoo is the one that is right for a person's hair type and budget. If they have curly or heavily damaged hair, they would typically use a moisturizing shampoo. Or, if they have fine, limp hair, they would definitely want to use a volumizing shampoo. This applies most of all to people who have colored their hair. They should always use shampoos made for dyed hair.

You can do it a few ways: 1- Scrub your horses socks with shampoo and water 'till they are sparkling clean! 2- wash your horses socks, then use bluing shampoo and wash them again. There are some shampoos that will make your horses white markings extra white, but normal equine shampoo also works fine. I hope that you found this answer informative and helpful!

Can old shampoo cause hair loss?

Yes and No. Manufacturers of hair care shampoos take the utmost care when developing their products and these have to undergo strict quality control as well as clinical trials on people with real hair to see that the shampoos and other products do not damage hair. But even with all this care taken to see that shampoos are safe for use, there are many chemicals in shampoos, some of which your skin may have an allergic reaction to and cause your hair to fall. But the good news is that it will be a temporary case of "hair fall" and not hair loss. Once you switch brands, even your hair fall problem should be taken care of. Real hair loss is due to hereditary, hormonal and dietary factors. If hair is coming out in clumps, or you notice circular patches of balding spots, however, that is a sign of real head hair loss. Many times when people change their shampoos they pay more attention to their hair and scalp. If at this time their hair appears shinier and manageable they naturally credit the shampoo. In the same vein, if they see that something is not quite right and they are losing hair, then obviously the shampoo gets blamed irrespective of whether the hair loss has just started or has been going on for some time. The fact is that whichever shampoo you use while washing your hair, you are going to experience hair fall due to the simple act of washing. The acceptable range of hair loss is about 100 strands of hair a day. This amount of hair fall is normal and does not constitute hair loss. Chemical procedures such as 'hair perming', vigorous combing of wet hair, and brushing of hair can also cause you to lose hair and this should not be blamed on the shampoo that you use. The fact of the matter is that although shampoos do make your hair fall, it is normal hair loss and there is no evidence to suggest that using shampoos results in hair loss irrespective of which type you use.
