tomatoes are fruit, and if you are skepticle, i know you're tired of hearing 'it has seeds', because that's too simple.

the real definition of fruit is the reproductive part of a plant, the ovaries, that thing that falls from the plant to grow into a new one and temporarily feed from the sugar flesh around it, not just something sweet you find at Jamba Juice.

all vegetables are other plant parts. carrots and beet are ROOT, lettuce is LEAF, celery is STALK
