Listen tongue piercing is simple in the hands of a professional body piercer. I am not going to list the procedure here or what is done and how, you need to know that a professional will walk you through the whole procedure when you get there. Gels and solutions on the tongue before piercing will interfere with the piercer's routine and could cause trouble If the thought of getting your tongue pierced is so bad that you need something for the pain then go find something else to do............seriously, piercing is not for you. You need to know professional piercers have worked hard and long to become as good as we are and when someone obsesses over getting a piercing it's not fun for us, it's annoying. You need to trust the piercer you are going to see, listen and pay attention to what they are telling you. I have preformed thousands of tongue piercings and they are all simple and easy from the client's point of view "painless". So think it over, book a time to go talk to the piercer and then when you are comfortable and ready, get it done. But save the numbing stuff out of it you don't need it.

Home made numbing cream is not recommended as a do it yourself project. For numbing at home without a purchased agent, ice cubes are the safest solution.

Unless you use some type of numbing cream, youre gonna feel something. Honestly, for a standard lobe piercing, the healing is going to hurt more than the piercing. It isnt worth using the numbing cream because when you get it pierced, the cream can get pushed inside the piercing and can cause piercings. Its better to just tough it out :)

Do your research and find a piercer who is really experienced (better than 5 years actually piercing). Experience doesn't mean they have a whole bunch or piercings, I know people who are covered in piercings and they still can't pierce, training and continued studying is the key.
