Yes.
Yes, as long as you wear a black tie!
If a black bow tie was worn with a white tuxedo it would make a great combination! The bow tie would really stand out and look great.
Hell yeah
No, it is not advisable for a woman to wear a tuxedo to a black tie wedding because tuxedos are meant to be worn by men. She could wear a simple black cocktail dress and if she likes instead of jewelry she could wear a black bow tie around her neck.
An event that requires formal attire. A tuxedo or black suit and tie for men and formal or cocktail dress for women
This is a great question as I'm sure that there are many people who are unsure as to which occasion calls for wearing a tuxedo. Firstly, a tuxedo is a super formal outfit meant to be worn during big occasions such as weddings, wedding receptions, prom night and other elaborate events such as a formal cocktail and particularly where the dress code is specified as "black tie" event. Now whereas a traditional suit (preferably two button) allows much more flexibility as to where and how one can wear this, with a tuxedo, your options are quite limited. A black suit accompanied by a white shirt, a black neck tie or bow tie can be worn at formal events where the dress code is NOT specified as "black tie". However, one may argue that wearing a black suit with a black tie at a "black tie event" should suffice; technically, that is correct but it's not the social norm and doing so, may be frowned upon by the host. Additionally, a traditional suit can also be worn at semi formal events, a dinner party, or even at a nice evening out with good company however, it's recommended that you don't wear a tie but that is a matter of personal preference.
There is none. Dinner jacket is English English for tuxedo! It does imply a black tie and vice versa.
A normal tuxedo with a black tie or bow tie. You could go for matching outfits or a complete contrast. E.g - Black shirt with a white tie
Yes and no. You wear a black tie to formal events.
'Black tie' almost always means a tuxedo (what the UK calls a dinner jacket). It is nearly synonymous with the term 'formal wear.'
The key phrase to understand about your question in order to give you a useful answer is "black suit vs. tuxedo". This is a great question as I'm sure that you're not the only one who has this on their mind.
