It's an output. I think. The usb port is already in there, so it should be an output. An input is something you put in, and an output is something that comes out. Hope this helps. :)

A usb cable is not a device. A USB drive would be a Storage Device and still not be an Input or Output device. A USB keyboard would be an input device and a USB printer would be an output device.

Get a PS2 to USB adapter. They are really cheap.
Monitors are not normally output devices. If it did output from HDMI and you put a USB on the end it would pass the data but you will need some way of interpreting the data. Unfortunatly its not as simple as just connecting wires together. There maybe boxes/converters out there that already do this.
