sometimes, it can also refer to maturity or later development, in after-life the inventor devised a machine that was used for copying photos on a scroll of paper, a forerunner of the Xerox. ( this was not marketed- and was not used in Egypt) the inventor was Mr., Eastman and he latterly developed a sort of proto-Xerox machine way back in l886 but did not market it commercially! Nothing new under the Sun.
