They have been doing overnight closes in those locations so the landlords cannot lock them out. I am a former manager of 10 years and was recently let go in one of these cases. Just type Hollywood Video closing or Movie Gallery closing in a search link on Google or yahoo and you will find multiple examples of the above. If you are a landlord - check your bank statements to see if you are getting paid. You may want to lock them out before they do a dine and dash. If you are a current employee - you may want to seek other employment pronto. Finally - well all this closing is going on - he has been telling the employees that only the bottom 10% of the company will close - which is just not the truth. All the while he is living like a rock star - flying to New York City for the WORLD SERIES! Im serious here. He also flew to the WORLD PREMIERE OF Twilight 2 - New Moon in LA. As employees are losing jobs left and right. Sorry to vent but in the end the answer to this question is a definitive YES.
