When completing a research paper using the MLA format, many students often go ahead to include a title page/cover page. It should be noted that as far as MLA style papers are concerned, a title page is not necessary. It is just added to research paper if asked by the supervisor or a teacher.

If your paper has a cover page, then an MLA name block is not necessary. The cover page typically includes all the required identification details, making the MLA name block redundant in this case, especially for a non-academic paper.

If your paper is for use in the literary field, it is a good idea, since much of the literary world uses MLA style. If not, it is up to you whether or not you should use a name block. However, many corporations include an MLA-style block on the cover page of their presentations.
