I'm no expert but one difference is your external abdominal muscles are voluntary and intestinal muscles are involuntary.
They cannot. Your digestive tract is under the control of your involutary muscles. Because of this, you have no way to control this process any more than you can control if you will digest food or not.
smooth muscles
cardiac muscle and intestinal muscles..
The muscles in the intestines are not named, specifically. There are circumferential muscle layers and longitudinal muscle layers in the intestines. These muscle layers create the peristalsis that moves food and digestive products through the intestinal tract. If you are asking the names of the muscles of the abdominal wall, they are the rectus abdominis, internal and external obliques, and the transverse abdominal muscles.
no
yes. The smooth muscles (e.g. in the digestive tract) are involuntary.
The small and large intestines comprise the final and terminal sections of the gastrointestinal tract. The movement of bile along these sections is aided by peristaltic contractions of intestinal muscles.
Yes, involantary muscles move food through the intestinal tract.
Involuntary or smooth muscles.
No. Muscles lining the intestinal tract and blood vessels are other examples of involuntary muscles.
