An Oboe, is a lot harder to make a good sound, and the Clarinet is a little bit easier. an oboe has a double reed, and a clarinet has a regular reed.
You can listen to them both on YouTube to compare the sound. This choice really has to be yours.
Edit: Oboists are usually harder to find, and thus are more in demand, especially in college music programs. You could have a fine shot at a music scholarship as an oboist.
No, a clarinet is a single reed instrument that produces a lower sound but can reach higher notes than an oboe (though it doesn't sound good). An oboe is a double reed instrument with a crisper sound- if you can make it sound good. Because of the double reed the oboe is a hard instrument to play, one of the hardest, and if you cant master the breathing you could pass out (I did once XD).
The oboe is a double reeded woodwind instrument.
Additional answer
The oboe is likened to that of soprano voice range, it has a stable penetrating pitch and often used for tuning purposes of other instruments for concerts. The oboe is pitched in concert C.
The oboe produces sounds of a slightly higher pitch range than the clarinet. The oboe will sound much crisper because of it's double reed mouthpiece, making it sound even higher to some ears.
Improve on the question, please. If you're choosing which instrument to play, I'd say bassoon because I know for sure that that one gives a scholarship. It's super hard, though.
That's an opinion so no one can really answer that. Some people prefer the oboe over the clarinet, others prefer the calrinet over the oboe.
a type of woodwind instrument that looks just like a claranet.
Alto sax
oboe
Yes. A saxophone is made of brass but makes sound by a vibrating reed like a clarinet.
There is a HUGE difference between an oboe and a bassoon. Bassoons are low woodwinds that are very large and have a reed that sticks out of the middle of the instrument. It sounds kind of muffled and normally plays a similar part in a song as the bass instruments (tuba, trombone, etc.) An oboe is similar in physical attributes to an English horn. An oboe has 2 reeds and plays a similar part in songs that a flute does, just a bit lower-pitched.
A Saxophone
An English Horn, which is basically an Alto Oboe. If you are looking for the baritone or contra-alto variants, they are called a Bassoon and a Contra-Alto Bassoon, respectively.

OBOEThe oboe is similar to the clarinet in many ways. Both are made from wood and have metal keys that can produce many notes rapidly. Unlike the clarinet, the oboe does not have a mouthpiece, but has two reeds tied together. By placing them between one's lips and blowing air through them, the reeds vibrate and produce a sound.
An oboe is a wind instrument from the double reed family because you use air to play the oboe,it has a reed,it isusuallyis made of plastic or polished wood and as far as Iknow isnot an percussion instrument!
a clarinet is bigger than a oboe but smaller than most others.
Rule of thumb: Brass instruments look like they're made of brass. Think Trumpet or trombone, the exception being saxophone, which is a woodwind instrument. An oboe is also a woodwind instrument.
