Yes, wizards exist. They have just decided that they will be better off hiding from us Muggles. If they were to show themselves we would want them to solve all our problems for us, not to mention that some governments would want to experiment on wizards to find out how come they have magic and Muggles don't. If you ask me, it's better that they are in hiding.

Not wizards in the sense of Harry Potter novels. But there are Witches and Wizards groups and societies and even call themselves by these names. These ones do not have magic powers.
