I'm really not sure what you're asking. 2 keeps the story of Desmond going so in that sense yes it's needed. In 2 you learn of Ezio, the new assassin that you control over that and the next two games, so skipping to brotherhood is a bad idea if that's what you mean. Many new game mechanics and weapons are introduced that have no tutorial in the next game so again it would be very helpful to play 2. 2 is also a stepping stone in growth for the developers in making the games better so yes it's needed. And in a larger sense 2 is seen by many to be better that 1 for it's increased variability in missions, increase in weapons and smoother free running so if you're asking it as a person that doesn't like the second one you must be in the minority.
well if you compare AC1 to AC2 you will notice that AC2 shows ezios story from his birth
As of now (April 2013) there are 8 main games and a number of supporting titles (ie; Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, for the PSP). For Assassins Creed 1 No, for Assassins Creed 2 yes.
yes assassins creed 1 and assassins creed revelations
Assassins Creed Bloodlines is 5 weeks after Assassins Creed 1. This is what happened to Altair before he dies. Assassins Creed 2 is a completely different thing. The main story is the same but the story of the main characters, Altair and Ezio, are very different. Assassins Creed Bloodlines does not have the Animus in it as much as Assassins Creed 1 & 2
I don't for-sure know about Assassins Creed 2 but Assassins Creed is 1 player and i think so is the second one.
1. Asassins creed 2. Asassins creed 2. 3. Asassins creed brotherhood 4.Assassins Creed Revelations 5. Assassins creed 3 6. Assassins Creed III Liberation

No.
Assassins creed 1 rules all the way the stealth is good and the game is the best
They are the exact same games but I am going to say ps3 because in AC brotherhood when playing online you need to pay for LIVE on Xbox but on PS3 it is free.
