Yes, a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is not eligible for the Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam unless you have studied core branches like:

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

The IES (also called ESE) exam conducted by UPSC is only for these four branches.
