Is black pudding a pudding?
Black pudding is a sausage.
Sometimes the word pudding means a sweet dessert but sometimes it means a sausage or a savory dish such as Yorkshire pudding.
Black pudding is not really a pudding because it isn't sweet. It is actually made from pig's blood and is shaped like a sausage (roughly). Black pudding is usually cut into circular pieces before being fried and served. It does sound disgusting eating pig's blood, but some people who know this fact are not bothered by it (me, for one!).

So far as I have been able to discern, Ring pudding is any pudding made in a Rounded tin with a center hole cut out. However, there is a prevalent amount of recipes for Liver Rings and something called Irish Black Ring Pudding. Pudding Rings can be anything though, including Macaroni, Chocolate, and other variations of sweet to salty to sour.
