For curios mind only, do not use for self diagnosis: Text book of a healthy adult is 120/70 mmHg. This is average and is different from person to person based on age, weight, gender, fitness, and diet. Even knowing all of the factors and what you did the 5 minutes before the blood pressure was taken, with out a baseline of blood pressures one can not conclude if this blood pressure is high for you or not.

∙ 9y agoA blood pressure reading of 146 over 84 is considered to be high stage 1 hypertension. Ideal blood pressure is considered to be 120 over 80 by most healthcare professionals.

∙ 11y agoDepends on your age and whether you are male or female.. The older you get the higher your blood pressure tends to be. Normal should be between 140/90mmHg and 90/60mmHg.
