Balija is a caste found in the state of Andhra pradesh,Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and primarily concentrated in the Southern Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Balija is a Sub Caste of the Kapu or Naidu caste of Andhra Pradesh. This is the only Subcaste of Kapu which bears both the titles Setty and Naidu

Yes. According to the research done by Srinivasulu, Pedda Kapu (Naidu) and Balija Naidu Caste are the same. Both these social groups belong to the same community and fall under Upper Shudra category where they have no reservations and are mostly found in Godavari districts and Vijayawada. There are known for agriculture and farming. There are two more groups who share the same name called Turpu Kapu and Munnuru Kapu etc who are found in Telangana but are distinct from Pedda Kapu. Pedda Kapu who are mainly known as Naidus and Balijas .

There different communities who called themselves as kapus in different regions, in Kosta andhra kapus are Balijas. Rayalseema kapus are reddys. South karnataka kapus are vokkaligas. Tamilnadu kapus are vanniyars.

But in AP kapus, balija, telaga and ontari are same.In telangana Munnuru kapu, turpu kapu are also comes under Balijakapu branch only.

Kapu,Telaga,Balija and vantari is one caste only. Besides Kapu people Naidu tag will be used by Chowdary people in Chittor region, and gavara people in Vizag region.

originally bogam caste people were devadasis and court dancers of kings.they were the people used for god's vaibhogam. that's why they were known as bogamollu in telugu.in democratic country after abolishion of devadasi system they entered main stream and called themselves bogam balija.the one prominant person of this community was late L.V.RAMAIAH noted industrialist in chennai.his grandson VISHNU PRASAD married SUSHMITHA D/O CHIRANJEEVI.thus now bogam caste became kapus.l.v.ramaiah's relatives are scattered in kadiri(ananthapur) and nandyal(kurnool)so any one can inquire about the truth.

No bogam balija or surya balija. This name recently coined by natavollu,devadasis due to discrimination in society. They came with new name suryabalija or bogam balija. They don't belongs to balija warrior merchant community. L.v ramaiah belongs to kavarai balija. Below ans given is pure lie just to defame balija merchant warriors and kapu naidu community.
