Best Answer

Bromine itself is not considered an acid. However, it can react with water to a small degree to form hydrobromic acid (HBr), a strong acid and hypobromous acid (HBrO) a weak acid.

Br2 + H2O --> HBr + HBrO

No. HCl, HBr,HI, HClO3, HClO4, HNO3, H2SO4 are the strong acids. Everything else is a weak acid.

Is phosphoric acid strong or weak acid?

Phosphoric acid is considered a weak acid. While it can donate multiple protons (H+ ions), its dissociation in water is not complete, resulting in a lower degree of ionization compared to strong acids like hydrochloric acid.

Is chloroacetic acid a weak or a strong acid?

Chloroacetic acid is a weak acid. Its dissociation in water is incomplete, meaning it does not completely ionize into H+ ions and its conjugate base.

Acetic acid- strong acid or weak acid?

Acetic acid is a weak acid. In solution, it partially ionizes to release hydrogen ions (H+) but does not completely dissociate. Its Ka value is lower than 1, indicating its weak acidic properties.

Is MgCl2 a weak or strong acid?

It is a weak acid

Is oxalic acid weak or strong?

Oxalic acid is a relatively strong weak acid. It has pKa1=1.27 and pKa2=4.28.

Is hypochlorous acid a strong or weak acid?

Hypochlorous acid is a weak acid. It is a fairly weak acid compared to strong acids like hydrochloric acid.

Is HSO4- a weak acid?

HSO4- is a weak acid. It is the conjugate base of sulfuric acid (H2SO4), which is a strong acid. However, HSO4- itself is a weak acid and partially dissociates in water.

Is malic acid a strong or weak acid?

Malic acid is considered a weak acid. It only partially dissociates in water, leading to a smaller concentration of hydrogen ions in solution compared to a strong acid like hydrochloric acid.

Is NaH2PO4 a weak or strong acid?

NaH2PO4 is a weak acid because it partially dissociates in water to release H+ ions. It is a monosodium phosphate compound that is often used as a buffer solution due to its ability to maintain pH stability.

What makes a strong acid differ from a weak acid?

A strong acid dissociates more completely than a weak acid.

Is sulphuric acid a strong acid or weak acid?

i thing strong acid

Is sulphuric acid a strong or weak acid?

Sulfuric acid is considered a strong acid because it ionizes completely in water to form H+ and HSO4- ions. It is highly corrosive and has a low pH.
