No. Technically, vegans don't eat animals or any type of animal by-products (nor wear them, as they appear in cosmetics, on shoes and on clothing). Animal by-products include eggs, milk, cheese and butter. Dairy, even if from a buffalo, could therefore never qualify as vegan.

There are many, many more stealthy animal by-products (either dairy based, egg-based, or animal-fat/bone/tissue based). In fact, many hidden ingredients in processed foods, even foods that you might not expect, contain animal by-products. For example, vegans can't eat some dyes or eat any processed sugar from conventional foods because the sugar is refined by a process that utilizes crushed up animal bones, or maybe the artificial coloring is from an animal source (crushed up insects in red #4 count as animals too!) Just a little more about veganism for ya.
