Is call of duty madern warfare 2 ok for children?

It depends on what age but generally no. It has extreme violence and i recommend it for an 11 year old who is pretty mature. This game is very violent with gruesome graphics and may not be appropriate for all children.

The age rating for CoD: World at War is 15. This is the age limit the retailer is legally obliged to observe, but which only provides parents with a guide by which to make their own judgement.

World at War is actually rather more gory than most other games in the genre, with blood effects, detachable limbs, and textures depicting exposed organs. This has drawn some criticism from fans of the series.

However, it is just a game. If you feel that your 10yr-old is capable of understanding that this is game, and will not suffer a psychotic episode as a result of playing it, then you take full responsibility (legally and morally) for allowing your child to play this game.

In comparison to stopping on your way to a drug delivery to pay a prostitute for sex, then shooting her in the face and grabbing your money back (a la GTA - a game played by a large number of minors), the gore and violence in CoD:WaW is really no worse than a Hollywood action movie.

Call of Duty is a FPS based on real conflicts, even though it's fictional. Most players on CoD are teenagers/adults, but lots of kids play it too. As of violence, there is blood and some cursing, but you can turn off the graphical content. Online people can voice chat, but on Call of Duty games you can mute. Overall Call of Duty isn't too violent compared to some other M titles. It's your final decision, but kids are going to need to know about this stuff at some point xD

Personely, I think its ok for people who are like 11 or older or about there. The 18+ is completely wrong. There is blood, lots of killing, and a mission where you kill civiliens, but at the start of the game, if you chosse yess I'll be offended, there is less blood and you miss this mission. The swearing is not there, only once does it swear, but in titles in multiplayer there are things like F.N.G. and S.S.D.D. and OMFG with secret meanings, but it's fine really. On online, there isn't really swearing unless a nerd or a stressy person is there.

Depends what age group. If it's 11-, then definitely no. There's not too much blood, and there's a lot of weapons. You have to kill people to stay alive.

Personally I think the 18+ thing is wrong.

Multiplayer should be about 14+ though.

It is rated M for language, blood and gore, violence, etc. In my opinion a 14 year old+ could probably play the campaign and online with no real problems. Younger than that the content will be a problem and both modes will be frustratingly difficult. Again this is just my opinion and depends on the child's maturity level.

Although many underaged gamers play Call of Duty (including myself), it is M for a reason. WaW has a lot of blood/gore, violence, drug use, and language (especially in multiplayer).
