1) It's not blasphemy; it's name-calling. It's attempting to insult someone for being God-fearing and normal. Heterosexuality and religion used to be the norm; and thank God, it still is for many people.
2) Modern society has crumbled to the point of considering deviant lifestyles as normal, because of lack of awareness of God, which brings in its wake the abandoning of all societal norms. They made an experiment: can society turn its back on God and still be decent and honorable. So they've reaped the results: drugs, unhappiness, weirdos, violence, deviants, sins of all kinds, etc., etc.
