yes
It depends on your opinion. But I do not like it.
Absolutely.
Both capital punishment and life imprisonment can be considered immoral for several reasons. Firstly, they deprive individuals of their basic human rights, including the right to life and liberty. Secondly, there is a risk of executing or imprisoning innocent people, which cannot be rectified if new evidence emerges after their punishment. Lastly, these punishments can be seen as revenge rather than rehabilitation, perpetuating a cycle of violence and failing to address the root causes of crime.
yes, because each individuals have a right to life and no,because some crimes are so heinous that capital punishment seems to be the only appropriate solution
The right to life is basically the right to not be killed unlawfully. This includes by other citizens and by the government. The constitution states that no man can be killed without the right to due process in a fair trial. There are certain crimes that one has to commit in which capital punishment is appropriate. If your crime doesn't fit then you can't be killed in that manner.
Due Process, Trial by jury, no cruel or unusual punishment
Advantages: Right realism emphasizes the role of individual responsibility for crime, highlights the importance of controlling crime through effective policing and punishment, and promotes practical crime prevention measures. Disadvantages: Critics argue that right realism neglects broader social factors that contribute to crime, such as poverty and inequality, and focuses too heavily on punishment rather than prevention. It can also lead to increased levels of surveillance and control, which may infringe on civil liberties.
The Article 2 of the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
This is a controversial subject as capital punishment in general is a system being scrutinized. However, there tends to be a shift towards making capital punishment as humane as possible. In America right now, lethal injection has been given much support for being quick and painless... and therefore seen as more humane. However, new data has shown that a person put through lethal injection can still feel feel pain. It is now being criticized as well for being an inhumane method of capital punishment. Much more information can be found in the wikipedia site, if searched Capital Punishment.
The Church feels that states do have the right to prosecute those guilty of crime but that the death penalty should be used only in the case of very heinous crimes. Hitler and Stalin would probably fall into this classification. The Church believes that all life is precious.
your question is, without doubt controversial. It will raise arguments, disputes and discussions as long as there are people on earth to discuss such topics. There would be those who argue that such a punishment is justifiable. Remember the Biblical quotation of 'an eye for an eye'. Capital punishment has been practiced in nearly every society as both a punishment and a deterrant. Some countries still consider this punishment reserved for special cases and about 3000 were sentanced in 2007 and there may be more than 30,000 on death row today. However there are statistics to prove that the penalty does not deter crime. Whether you think it is right or wrong may be found in your own conscience, how you distinguish right from wrong and what your own moral feeling may be. Further contributions are requested
Capital punishment in its self is wrong. No man should have the power to put another man to death. Two wrongs don't make a right!Added: The above response is PURELY personal opinion. The REAL controversy is in dealing with whether the juvenile "knew" of the conseequences of their action when they committed the crime.
