Yes . It has more flavor.
I think this depends on what you consider more popular. By sales it would definitely not be more popular. By taste, being that this is subjective and not objective to all eaters of popcorn it could be possible, but I doubt it. If it was actually more popular you would see caramel popcorn everywhere.

There are two types if popcorn kernels: "butterfly" and "mushroom." The "butterfly" usually is large, light, fluffy, and looks like it has wings resembling a butterflies. The "mushroom" is more dense and compact, like a ball and is usually used for candy coating, caramelizing, etc. There are many different kinds of popcorn, including kettle corn, hot air popcorn, microwave popcorn, old-fashioned popcorn, and flavored popcorn (caramel, cheese, even lemon-lime, watermelon, strawberry, and pineapple).
The number of Weight Watchers Points in a small popcorn can vary based on preparation and serving size. Typically, plain air-popped popcorn has about 1 point per cup, while movie theater popcorn can have significantly more due to added butter and oil. A small serving of plain popcorn might range from 3 to 5 points, but it's best to check the specific brand or preparation method for an accurate count.
Possibly. If it has butter and you eat lots, yes. But the salt is more an issue of concern.

Popcorn is not necessarily 'healthy' for you. It certainly should not take the place of a healthy, fruit and veggie filled diet. But then again, popcorn is more 'healthy' for you if you buy it organic.
Popcorn was not around at the first Thanksgiving at Plymouth Colony. They did, however, have roasted maize. It doesn't really pop but it does puff up when roasted. Popcorn is more popular today because a person isn't as likely to chip a tooth on it.
