Yes, carbon dioxide (CO2) is certainly a contributor to global warming. It is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas important in the greenhouse effects which helps sustain life on earth. And if it is true, as all agree, that at the right concentration (260-280 parts per million) CO2 helps maintain the global temperature at a comfortable level suitable for human existence, then it is also true that a substantial increase in the concentration of atmospheric CO2 will increase the average global temperature. The 35 per cent rise in CO2 concentration that has occurred since the beginning of the Industrial Age coincides quite well with the onset of global warming. In fact, a recent poll of scientists in different fields has found that 97 per cent of those who published at least half of their peer-reviewed research in the climate field agreed that global temperatures are rising and that human activity was significant in this process.

No carbon monoxide doesn't contribute to global warming. Some people get it confused with carbon dioxide which does contribute to this! However, ambient carbon monoxide which is usually emitted in relatively small amounts will probably be converted to carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon monoxide can also accelerate or decelerate the formation of ground level ozone which does act as a greenhouse gas contributing to global warming.

Yes. There has always been a certain amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This has kept the planet warm enough for life for millions of years. Now, since man started burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) this increased carbon dioxide (which had been buried underground) is now being added to the atmosphere, and it is this extra carbon dioxide that is causing global warming.

No. Global warming is caused by Carbon dioxide (CO2), which is produced by the burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) in industry, transport and the generation of electricity.

According to NASA "Carbon monoxide (CO) is a pollutant that affects methane, carbon dioxide, and tropospheric (lower atmospheric) ozone. It thus plays a role in both air pollution and climate change..."

global warming

Carbon dioxide has been charged and convicted of causing global warming.

Too much of which gas in the atmosphere is causing global warming?

Too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is causing global warming. The natural carbon cycle is overwhelmed and can't move out all the extra gas. The extra gas is turning the natural greenhouse effect into an accelerated greenhouse effect, which is causing global warming.

How much has the air polluted because of global warming?

None. Global warming does not cause pollution. In fact, it is the other way round. Carbon dioxide pollution is causing global warming.

The increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, particularly carbon dioxide, is causing global warming.

What element when oxidised causes global warming?

Carbon (C), when oxidised, becomes carbon dioxide (CO2), a powerful greenhouse gas causing global warming and climate change.

The increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is causing global warming and climate change.

What are the harmful gases?

Carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, chloroflorocarbons (CFC's), mercury emissions, volatile organic compounds, etc. All the greenhouse gases that are causing global warming, especially carbon dioxide and methane.

Carbon dioxide in the air is causing the temperature to rise or fall?

To rise. This is global warming.

Just about all nations are causing global warming, some more than others, of course. China and the US are the nations with the largest carbon footprints at the moment.
