Skeletal muscles are designed to give maximum strength - the drawback to this is that they can only operate for a short while. Try holding your arm out straight level for an hour. Cardiac muscles are designed to work continuously (short bursts but forever) - the drawback to this is that their maximum effort is only mediocre. Skeletal muscles are attached to your bones, smooth muscles work in your organs, and cardiac muscles work in your heart.

The difference is that the strained muscle has more tension on it and the smooth muscle doesn't like if you break your leg you relay on the other leg to get you around so while the muscle fixes you should use the other arm.

What is cardiac smooth muscle?

There is nothing really called 'cardiac smooth muscle'. Cardiac muscle is striated like skeletal muscle but it is not under your control like skeletal muscle is. Is the cardiac muscle branched?

No. Smooth muscle and cardiac muscle are two different types of muscle tissue. Smooth muscle does not have striations (or stripes) and is located in the organs. Cardiac muscle is striated (has stripes) and fits together with gap junctions that allow for quick passage.
