Yes, you can eat most cat food, but it's not recommended. There are not as many health regulations in the making of pet food, so your chance of getting a disease is higher.
That said, most wet cat foods are made of fish, poultry or beef, and most dry cat foods are primarily made of grain. So, they're not inherently bad for humans, just not very tasty.
