yes celia is funny
rosalind had good just as celia and she was deeply in luv with Orlando
Rosalind is the star of the show. If it were not for Rosalind and Celia there would be no play at all. Celia is Rosalind's foil. Audrey is another matter: she is comic relief, acting as a foil to Touchstone.
She is Rosalind's first cousin in As You Like It.
In Shakespeare's "As You Like It," Rosalind does not overshadow Celia; rather, she complements her character. Rosalind is more dynamic and takes on a more active role in the narrative, often leading the way in their adventures. Celia, while loyal and supportive, primarily serves as a foil to Rosalind, highlighting her cousin's intelligence and resourcefulness. Thus, rather than overshadowing, Rosalind enhances the story through her vibrant personality and cleverness.
As in the play, and in the story Shakespeare based his play on, Celia becomes Aliena and Rosalind becomes Ganymede.
Celia's response to her father's treatment of Rosalind shows her loyalty and compassion. Despite her father's actions, she chooses to stand by Rosalind and even offers to leave with her. This demonstrates Celia's strong bond with Rosalind and her willingness to defy authority for the sake of their friendship.
the worker who worked as Rosalind's maid was the source of rumor because she secretly heard both Rosalind's and Celia talking about Orlando.
Rosalind and Celia are cousins, both members of the royalty. Though they have similar backgrounds and upbringings, Rosalind is much more adventurous and unconventional than Celia is. They are very close - so close that Celia sides with her cousin and defies her father to be with Rosalind. Celia is neither as smart nor as witty as Rosalind, but she is kind and loyal and willing to go along with Rosalind's scheme to sneak out of court and join Duke Senior in the Forest of Arden, where he holds court since he has been banished by his brother, Celia's father. Celia would like to be as brave as Rosalind, and she does make an attempt, but she is not as well-suited to the outdoor life of a shepherdess as she thought she would be. She discovers her own kind of bravery in the process of following in Rosalind's footsteps, but still lets her cousin take the lead. In the end, she marries Oliver, the brother of Rosalind's love Orlando, and Shakespeare ends the play leaving the audience with the sense that the two young women will remain close friends.
Corin is a shepherd, employed by a rather unpleasant man who owns the farm. Celia, Rosalind and Touchstone give Corin the money he needs to buy his employer out, to purchase the farmhouse, sheep pens and flock of sheep, so he can set up business as a shepherd on his own. As part of the deal, Celia, Rosalind and Touchstone get to live with him.
Rosalind and Orlando; Celia and Oliver; Phoebe and Silvius; Audrey and Touchstone
The main character of the play As You Like It is Rosalind. All of the action centres on her; she even delivers the epilogue. Other important characters are Rosalind's cousin and friend Celia and her beloved Orlando
See the related link. Basically, Duke Frederick is a very greedy person and banishes alot of ppl. There has been a lot of ppl banished and the deposed Duke Senior (Duke Frederick's brother) and those friendly to him (other banished ppl) have fled to a nearby forest (Forest of Arden). These include his daughter Rosalind and Celia, the daughter of the usurping Duke Senior, a depressed guy called Jaques, and Orlando. Rosalind has disguised herself as a boy (Ganymede) and she and Celia pretend to be shepherds. Orlando and Rosalind are in love, and Orlando has written love poetry all over the place. Rosalind teases him in her guise as a boy. Orlando's brother Oliver falls out with the usurper and comes into the forest , where he and Celia fall for each other. Rosalind attracts a girl called Phoebe, but Rosalind arranges that Phebe should marry the young man who loves her Silvius, Oliver should marry Celia and Orlando should marry Rosalind herself. All this transpires as the usurping Duke Senior restores the exiled one, since virtually the entire population has moved to the forest to get away from the usurper.
