Currently, as of now they're not played as much as when the codex was first released. Chaos Space Marines are in need of a serious update, their codex is two rulebooks old. I predict a update for them very soon since 6th edition rulebook has been released. Lore-wise and video game wise, they've been in every single Warhammer 40k game one way or another. Except Dawn of War II the first of its series which focused on the Tyranid invasion, Orks and Eldar. But the Dawn of War games first series had Chaos in each. Chaos Daemons in tabletop are used now and then, most people love Chaos for the amount of creativity available in their models, they're commonly the most loved at Golden Demon for the creativity achievable with them. But gameplay wise, as of now Chaos Space Marines are in the dump, they need an update, and I want it too!
