Chihuahua poodles.. hmm that's a different one! I bet they are cute. I think that if your child has Allergies, to dogs, you might rethink getting one at all.
Normally allergies are to the dander produced, not so much the animal.
So this breed might be better than some others. Poodles normally don't shed much, but chihuahua's do tend to leave hair behind. If you already have the dog, you might try a weekly washing routine to help in reducing dander and shedding.

Chi's are really not a breed for children, they don't really like children much. If you are allergic to dogs then you will be allergic to a chi...they do shed.
