Toshiba Laptops are one of the better ones out there as far as I'm concerned... Better than Dell & HP
Dell, Toshiba, HP Compaq, Lenovo, HP EliteBook, and Samsung all have laptops and notebooks available with duo core processors. You can purchase one online at Amazon.
In my experience, they are about equally good. Dell has a top of the line XPS where Toshiba has a similar high end laptop in the Qosmio
I have a Toshiba and it works very well. They have become a more popular brand for laptops because of their increase in quality.
It depends on what sale you are looking at and where you live. At the moment, computers and notebooks as HP, Dell, Compaq, and Toshiba are available at a clearance sale.
Disclaimer -- They both have their pluses and minuses and choosing between them is really a matter of personal preference weighed against the feature-sets available. You should do some research & read some reviews about the -specific models- you are considering buying. Having worked with a lot of used equipment, I have to admit that all the 10-year-old compaq laptops ive seen seem to have survived better than all the 10-year-old toshibas. It may or may not still be the case, but compaq has always had a reputation for building a pretty sturdy portable. Toshiba on the other hand has always been more adventurous about putting in the latest greatest hardware (for better or worse) and usually has a little bit better performance machines available. All things being equal, my personal choice is I'd go with the Toshiba. Note: The above answer was typed on a dell laptop (because they had financing(which i dont recommend (the financing i mean, the laptops fine)))
Toshiba laptops come in all different sizes, from 10" to 18".
The official website for HP is www.hp.com. From there you can explore the products they have to offer (i.e. compaq laptops).
Compaq computers/laptops are made in china
The Compaq Presario V5000 battery will be compatible for laptops that are from the computer company, Compaq. You can find these batteries online in Amazon or eBay.
Since Toshiba laptops are great for gaming, the Toshiba Satellite A200-S4629 is better than the HP Pavilion DV6446US in gaming.
Sony Vaio laptops are pretty good, but like Mac, will need patience in learning how to navigate and utilize all its programs. The Compaq laptop is a "basic", low cost computer and great if all you want is a basic, low cost laptop :)
