It is definitely less of a diuretic, but coffee has over a hundred chemicals other than caffeine and it's certainly possible that some of those could have diuretic effects as well.

Decaf can contain anywhere from less than 1% to about 3% of the caffeine of caffeinated coffee. This is because it is easy to get most of the caffeine out, but very tedious to get just about all of it out. This amount of caffeine should not have an effect on people, however.

Can children drink decaffeinated coffee?

I don't know about how it would affect a child's health, however, I wouldn't give a child coffee due to the caffeine. If you do, however, I would suggest to put milk in it so it would contain less caffeine. That's why they call coffee with milk, kids coffee.

Some herbal teas are taken for their diuretic properties (i.e. Tending to increase the discharge of urine). Is decaf coffee safe while breastfeeding?

There are two diffrent processes for decaffinating coffee. One uses water the other chemicals. Be sure to purchase water processed decaff or else you are increasing your exposure to some chamicals. Recent research shows that 2 cups of regular coffee a day can double your risk of miscarriage and your risk still goes up by 42% if you consume less then 200 mg of caffiene a day. So reducing as low as possible is a good idea. A cup of decaff can still have 5mg of caffine, so you need decide where your accepance of risk is.

Does decaf mean zero caffeine?

Just like decaf coffee, decaf tea does contain a small residual amount of caffeine. The caffeine content will depend on the company producing tea and the process they use, as well as on the original tea's caffeine content. Apparently the High Pressure Carbon Dioxide Process developed in Europe produces the best decaf tea as it removes most of the caffeine, does not leave any residual carbon dioxide and extracts less of the flavor. However, no decaffeination process is perfect, and all decaf tea loses some flavor. People who want a truly caffeine-free drink that resembles tea will need to drink naturally caffeine-free herbal teas.

When do you drink coffee?

Coffee contains caffeine, so unless you drink decaf, it will keep you awake for a while. If you drink it in the morning, it may help you feel more energized and help you to prepare for your day. Drinking caffeine at night will cause you to sleep less deeply, and ultimately wake up earlier. when the opportunity presents itself. i throw coffee down my neck whenever i can :)

Can coffee make you feel less hungry?

It won't stop hunger. Coffee is a diuretic it pulls the water out of your body. The hunger you feel is from the caffeine and hose down lose. Caffeine makes your body burn more energy and the wet lose dehydrates your muscles. Try drinking more water and working out. But from my own experience, no. Coffee fills you up. Your basically drinking a meal. Coffee is a stimulant, it does what is said above.
