Unfortunately not yet. Vaccines provide protection only for specific viral diseases. Diabetes is not a viral disease, so it does not have a vaccine. Childhood, or type A diabetes, cannot be prevented. Type 2, or adult onset diabetes occurs in people who are obese and sometimes also those with a genetic predisposition (runs in your family). The best way to avoid type 2 diabetes is by eating a healthy diet and excersising.

Avoid too many refined (processed) carbohydrates and this includes grains, sugar and products containing sugar.
