Turn you high beams on and check your tail light. If its brighter, you have a head light bulb as a tail light bulb. 97-02 are the only ones that should do this. Find a tail light bulb and replace.(I couldn't believe it either).
if the head lamp is just dim the bulb is good it just has a bad conection. The plug to the head light should be accesable from the top when you open the hood. un plug the dim lamp and clean the plug with baking soda and a tooth brush and make sure it is very dry before it gets pluged in.

pop off the cover using a small flat head screwdriver, slide it up the shifter an inch or two. you should be able to feel where the bulb slides in. pull bulb out and replace.
