"Dissolution" should be used instead. This is the process of a solute getting into the liquid phase to form a solution. "Solvation" and "solution" are used in chemistry. They have a very differrent meaning. A "solution" is a solvent containing (a) solute(s). Water dissolve table salt (NaCl) to give a solution. This is the dissolution process. "Solvation" addresses the interaction(s) between a solvent and a solute. An ion (Na+, Cl+), or a neutral molecule , is "solvated" by the water molecules (solvent molecules). "Dissolvation" is NOT in (official) use in chemistry (se recommandations of the IUPAC = International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry). More scientific and complete definitions can be found in the "Gold Book", the IUPAC Compendium of Chemical Terminology. Note: My mother language is not English, but I use it often as a university professor in chemistry. JF Gal, Prof. emeritus, University of Nice, France
Yes! You are not chemically changing anything, and the substance is still physically there when it has dissolved, but you just can't see it, so it is a physical change! :)
Not necessarily
Dissolving is a physical process.
good float
Dissolving in water is a physical change.
physical change- solid to solution
The process of dissolving is a physical change. This is because the process can be simply reversed. With a chemical change a new substance is formed and the process can not be simply reversed.
Dissolution is a physical change.
Dissolving in water is a physical change.
is dissolving a chemical or physical changeWell, it is not. Because you are not changing the chemical identity of the solid. It's still solid chemically and water chemically.

Dissolving is considered by most to be a physical change.

No, dissolving is a physical change
Dissolving tablets is a physical change, as they can be distilled out again.
