Can fleas spread HIV?

Insects such as mosquitoes, flies, ticks, fleas, bees, and wasps cannot spread HIV. If an insect bites a person with HIV, the virus dies as the insect digests the blood. HIV is only able to live in human cells.

Can a insect mate with a dog?

No. Only dogs can mate with dogs.

How does the dog help fleas?

The dogs blood is the flea's diet. As like every living organism, the flea needs to eat to survive and its diet is dog blood. So it climbs on dogs and feeds on their blood through their skin. Fleas can have a negative influence on the dogs health because much of the nutrition we feed the dog would end up in the flea's system and your dog would never grow as well as it can.Male fleas do not bite, only the females do. The blood being sucked in is the female's diet adn her children; she delivers part of it back to her babies

Is disease density-dependent or density-independent?

Density dependent. Imagine a small room tightly packed with dogs, and only one of the dogs has fleas. Since the dogs are so close together, the fleas can easily jump from one dog to another dog. However, in a large room with only 5 dogs, only one of the dogs having fleas, the dogs are free to roam more and the fleas can't be transferred as easily. Hope this helps :)

I killed a dark flying insect that landed on my leg which smeared a large amount of black blood across my leg and hand what kind of insect could this have been?

There are many insects that feed off the blood of its host, most common of these are mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. Of those, the only one that flies is a mosquito, and it was either filled with your blood that it just fed on, or another person or animal.

Fleas and dogs are in a symbiotic relationship called?

It's not a symbiotic relationship ! It's a parasitical relationship. In a symbiotic relationship - BOTH organisms benefit form each other. In a parasitical relationship - only ONE of the organisms benefits - usually to the detriment of the other. Fleas suck blood from dogs - which can make the dog ill. The dog gets no benefit.

Can human get fleas?

Yes, this happens all the time. Fleas typically prefer to live on other mammals like dogs and cats because they can hide in the fur coat easier. However, if a human is the only meal they can find, fleas will happily feed on humans with no problem.A flea would much prefer to live off of the blood of cats, dogs, or other animals, than they would that of a human. It is extremely unlikely for a human to be infested with fleas, but singular flea-bites are not uncommon.

Do dogs only scratch themselves when they have lice?

Dogs scratch for many reasons. They could have fleas, dry skin, dandruff, ticks, or just an itch. They can not get lice.

What kills fleas On dog?

Fleas are really common. Dogs can get fleas from other dogs, cats and grass. Identify where you think they got fleas from and stop this, so they don't keep getting fleas. You have to treat carpets, sofas and the whole house if the infestation is quite bad. Hoovering is the best way to get rid of most fleas and their eggs. Fleas lay eggs in crack and gaps so concentrate on these areas. Medication for getting rid of fleas on the dog will only work if you solve the carpet/sofa issue. You can get drops to put on the back of the dogs neck. These are really effective because it doesn't kill the fleas - it means the eggs the fleas lay won't survive, so you break the life-cycle. Flea shampoos are not effective - normal water and soap will kill fleas. Pills for fleas are also not recommended as they only kill the fleas that are on the dog - not in the carpets. If these methods don't work, get an exterminator in to gas the whole house!

Why don't insects have blood?
