Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays in Trinidad and Tobago.

Christians attend church services, visit relatives and share large family meals. Hot Cross Buns are eaten before or after the meal on Good Friday by Christians and non-Christians alike. Some beat an effigy of Judas Iscariot, called a Bobolee," on this day.

On Easter Sunday, a large meal is served that usually includes baked ham, baked pork or roast chicken with all the trimmings.

On Easter Monday, people rest, go to the beach or stay home and enjoy leftovers.

As in many other countries, there are chocolates eggs, bunnies and chicks and Easter egg hunts.

Growing from ladies getting new hats for Easter Mass, Easter bonnet parades and competitions are a long-standing tradition during the weeks before Easter. In recent years, parades are mostly held at shopping malls and are for children.
