No its not, energy can a be a rather vague term, but basically its the amount of work done. The formula for energy is given by Energy = Force x Displacement but there are many other types of energy but generally the flow of protons is not energy however the flow of electrons is. (Electrical Energy) Hope this helps =D

No, protons don't deliver electrical energy.

Only electrons from the shells of atoms are used to deliver electrical energy.

Every atom of matter has:

  • a middle area, called its "core", which is made from protons and neutrons

    and

  • an outer area which surrounds the core, called its "shell", that contains electrons.

Electrical energy is also called "electricity".

No, it is the flow of both electrons and protons .

In fact, electricity is the a property of certain fundamental particles of all matter, as electrons (negative charges) and protons or positrons (positive charges) that have a force field associated with them and that can be separated by the expenditure of energy

Actually, electrons flow, from negative to positive. Thinking, however, that protons flow from positive to negative is a convenient way to conceptualize electric current flow, because it makes the math a little bit easier to deal with in those terms.

Protons are not the carriers of electric current ... for example, to the cellphone

from a battery, or to the lamp through an extension cord. Electrons are.

Electrons are negative charges. The negative terminal of the battery is the side

where there are too many of them, and the positive terminal is where they all

want to go to.

Electric current is always from the negative terminal of the power source to the

positive one.

there are two electric charges, protons and electrons. protons are the flow of current which diagonazes the wires.

They don't have a direction, but they have a spin (which is not the way they spin, but it used to be and the name just stuck) is 1/2.

What is needed for electricity to flow?

current - caused by protons (+) and neutrons (-) flowing around a circuit

What is flow void?

A flow void is the absence of signal from blood whose activated protons leave a bodily area before the magnetization is measure. It can be caused by turbulence and intravoxel dephasing.

What slows the movement of electrons?

Insulators

Do the sign positive or negative of the charge affect how that charge is dissipated?

The dissipation of charge comes from electron flow, regardless of how it was charged. The balance of electrons (which have a negative charge) to protons (which are positively charged) determine if the charge of the object. Protons are in the nucleus and will not leave the nucleus without some sort of nuclear reaction or decay. Also, if protons leave or are added to the nucleus, the element changes. Electrons orbit the nucleus, and are much easier to get to move from one atom to another. By rubbing two objects together, electrons can move from one of the objects to the other. If the objects are separated, then one of them has less electrons than before - this now has a net positive charge (there are more protons than electrons). The other object has a net negative charge (more electrons than protons). If a third object is touched, then the positively charged object may attract some electrons from this third object until the charge is neutralized. If the negative object touches another object, then it will give away the excess electrons so that it has a neutral charge. In both cases it is electron flow, just the direction of flow is different.

When will the flow of protons be involved in an electrical circuit?

In metallic conductors, current is produced by flow of electrons. Usually , protons are not involved in an electrical circuit, however, in case of electrolysis of aqueous NaCl, Positive ions which are protons act as charge carriers and become cause of flow of electric current.

Is Electricity is the controlled flow of protons through a conductor.?

No. Electrons.

Why does current generally involve the flow of electrons but not protons?

The protons are bound inside the nucleus and are not free. In conductors, the electrons are free to move.
