Spore Creatures is a very, very poor version of Spore for the DS. You can't really make your own creatures, and it is presented in a more campaign format. No, it is totally different to Spore, basically.
Yes and no. Yes because the creature is in spore and no because you get to evolve your creature and exolore the galaxy.
I had the exact same problem! What you do is you make an account with a different username but the same password and e-mail. Then you login. Since they only want your email and password, it will go to your original account. By they way, my spore screen name is aldrea and my email is cadream@comcast.net. Look me up on the spore add buddy thing.
There is a small game based on Spore for the Nintendo DS called Spore Creatures. It's pretty much the same thing as Spore for the PC I think but the graphics are worse. This page on game fly has good game description with links to critic reviews, user reviews, videos, instructions, and game specs: http://www.gamefly.com/products/detail.asp?pid=131635
