Is everyone going to die in 2029?

Yes. Every body in this world wil die on the 12th. This is a very hard question for people to answer, but i am a scientist and it is my job to do hard work to discover the world. (i am also very smart). So enjoy the 1-2 years left of your life and don't think about the future.

That is all wrong. God has a plan for us, and anyone who says the exact date or year or time is wrong. I don't care if you're a scientist. God will save those who believe in him in the rapture. Trust me. We are meant to have a long life.... (except those who aren't believers, *Cough* *Cough* Mr. Stupid Scientist)

Ignore the previous answer, as forcing a religious belief onto somebody without any leeway for logical answering is just kinda unfair (no offense to any religious people, and hopefully not the previous answerer). Put simply: no, we won't (and if the first answerer really was smart, s/he would know proper grammar. Anyway, we won't die. 2012 signifies the turn of the Mayan calendar cycle, and it is said that 'whoever lives through this cycle is lucky'. This doesn't mean that it's lucky to survive it, but more that living during a time in which the cycle changes brings luck. Nobody will die (well, no more than usual on a set day), so don't freak.

• Yes we all have to die at some time in our lives, but there is no such thing as death in the sense of annihilation, in the sense that matter ceases to exist or that living things have a conscious identity. Death is merely a change from one status or sphere of existence to another. This death is the separation of the eternal spirit from the mortal, and it is just as important to die as it is to be born. Well, what would happen is the Earth will slowly approach the black hole, and as it does this the stuff on the earth (buildings, houses, and yes people) will break apart into small pieces as it approaches the black hole. Then, sooner or later the Earth will be so close to it, that the Earth will itself break into pieces. There is no escape of course. There is no destination that it's taking you to, so you're better off dying than surviving (plus there's no oxygen in space).

Oh, you were referring to the Friday, April 13, 2029 near pass by the asteroid Apophis? No, Apophis will certainly miss the Earth in 2029. However, it will come quite close to the Earth, and the Earth's gravity will deflect the orbit of Apophis very slightly, giving it a tiny but measurable probability of striking the Earth exactly seven years later, on Friday, April 13, 2036. (Note that BOTH passes will occur on Friday the 13th.)

Closer observations of Apophis' orbit during the CPA (Closest Point of Approach) in 2029 will allow us to more accurately predict the approach distance for the 2036 pass.
