No all of Mario party 8 can at least be played with 2 players at the minimum however there are party modes and extra minigames that can be played with up to 4 players.

Nope. Mario Party 1,2, and 3 or on N64. Mario Party 4,5,6, and 7 are on Gamecube (which discs you can put into the Wii. But Mario Party 8 is the only one on the Wii so far. However, since the Wii is backwards compatible with GameCube games, you can play the game on the Wii.
