Excelsior College's nursing program is no longer accepted by the California and Georgia Board of Nursing. Also, Excelsior's clinical performance nursing examination (CPNE) has a poor rate of success. Excelsior College's nursing program IS NOT accepted in California, unless you were an LVN ENROLLED in the program BEFORE the BON made the decision. You would then fall under the grandfather clause which would allow you to sit for the Nclex in California. In July '08 Georgia BON decided not to endorse Excelsior graduates. After votes in the Georgia Assembly and words from Gov. Perdue as of April 2009, Excelsior College's nursing program IS accepted in Georgia. Not only will it allow graduates to endorse but Georgia is now allowing Excelsior graduates to sit for the Nclex to obtain a Georgia license. Excelsior nurses are now able to license in Georgia. 6/14/2009

∙ 14y agoExcelsior College has the preferred regional accreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Therefore, the coursework and degree you complete through this college will be recognized by all other colleges and universities as well as employers. Excelsior would be a fine school to obtain your RN.

Is Hampton university good for nursing program?
Only the College of Virginia Beach campus. They have a 100% pass rate for the NCLEX. I do not recommend the main campus in Hampton.

University of Arizona Just about all colleges and universities have good nursing programs. I go to school with students getting their associates in nursing. They have all told me that it is easier to go to a community college for their associates and then transfer to a University that has a nursing program for your next two years of school. Also the community college will help you into getting in the university that you want and they will have a good list of colleges and universities that offer your program. You could make a list of criteria to help you make your choice. There is not as much importance linked to the school you attended for nursing as there is in other fields. In any case, you should include the direct experience in hospitals as one of the criteria for your choice. If funds are an issue, many teaching hospitals offer assistance with tuition for a nursing degree if you come in as a practical nurse. Finally, your grades from the first two years of college are going to affect what nursing schools will accept you. === ===
