The franchise it's self is awesome, very good history and gaming experience. The game takes place on post nuclear apocalyptic America, it also has a retro-futurism feel due to the culture being alot like 50's America.
Fallout 3 has to be the best game by far. Excellent story and beautiful graphics. It really captures the feel of a post apocalyptic America.
Fallout New Vegas is fun but when I play it feela like it's not a post apocalyptic game(Vegas barely got hit by nukes and hardly any radiated water.)

BOTH! I actually can't comment on Fallout New Vegas because I haven't played it, but Fable 3 was awesome. I loved Fable 1, hated Fable 2. Fable 3 is really awesome. I'm on my 3rd play through since Tuesday.
