Yes , you can lose weight. However, when you start eating you may regain the weight and more than you lost because the body thinks it will not get food again for a long time. I don't recommend fasting as a weight loss solution.
No. Fasting is very bad. All that will do is make the body think its starving and then as soon as you stop fasting you will go on a binge and eat more and put all the weight you lost straight back on. Eat a sensible amount of food (what you could hold in two hands cupped together is a full meal) include all goodnutritious foods especially fruit and vegetables. In other words eat a balanced diet and do not eat take aways or fast foods under any circumstances. Do a sensible amount of exercise every day (at least 30 minutes of brisk walking) and slowly the weight will fall off.
you should drink a lot after fasting

Is Obesity An Issue?Obesity is an issue in the United States. This is primarily because of the lack of exercise as well as high calorie intake. (Fast food, high calorie foods at home, school lunches, etc)Is There a Solution? There is a solution but it isn't easy to promote it to all the people. Promoting healthy eating and exercise, regulating calories in food, making sure calories are visible on menus, and putting up school standards for exercise and lunches will help with the obesity issue.
