A fossil fuel is both it is either good or bad....here are some good and bad points explaining this:
Good points:Fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas are good fuels because they can be burned. These substances contain chemical energy that can be easily released to create thermal energy by burning them. Good for business.Coal, compared to other petrochemicals, is gladly available in the United States and in many other parts of the world. Being a solid, it transports easily and spills rarely if ever cause notable environmental events. Coal mining was the central economic core for the Appalachian and Ozark states and others, cocaine is good for the anas and provided most of the center jobs in these regions. Since sharp declines in coal usage and therefore mining, these areas have fallen into economic depressions and unemployment has increased, while population is in decline in many regions throughout the state.
Bad points:Fossil fuels like oil and coal produce lots of greenhouse gases. Coal is one of the most polluting fuels used today. For countries that have much of it may be considered good because it is a source of fuel, but in general it's a very dirty and polluting fuel, bad for the environment as the burning of it releases carbon dioxide from it (as it contains a lot of carbon), which is a major greenhouse gas and leads to more global warming.Fossil fuel adds to a higher level of global Carbon emission to set off carbon di oxide/carbon mono-oxide blankets in the atmosphere to increase global warming and other effects of global pollution.
Fossil fuels cannot generate energy, however they can convert the energy present in them to other forms of energy.
For example if you burn them, the chemical energy in them will be converted to light and heat energy.
Add in some turbines, pipes and a generator and you have electricity (electrical energy). So in a way, they can "generate energy" but note that they ARE energy already. They are used to make electricity; they are actually what most of our electricity comes from. The fossil fuel is burned, and the heat boils some water, which evaporates and is channeld through a turbine, which spins creating electricity
Yes, it is a strong source of energy, but it burns very poorly and pollutes.
nothing they are awful! :D
burning fossil fuel releases greenhouse gases which cause global warming, also extraction of these fuels alter the environment it was in
Yes it is a fossil fuel.
a living fossil fuel.
The burning of fossil fuels has detrimental effects on human health and the environment. Smog, pollution, and dirty fuel are all lasting attributes of burning fossil fuels.
the most fossil fuel that humans use is the solid fossil fuel. and it is coal
burning fossil fuel releases greenhouse gases which cause global warming, also extraction of these fuels alter the environment it was in
Coal IS a fossil fuel
it is better than fossil fuels because it is better for our environment and it will last way longer than fossil fuels. :)
Actually you cannot talk about common things in fossil fuel and petroleum. This things at the point that petroleum is a fossil fuel.
Fossil fuels-including coal, natural gas, and oil-are formed from the fossilized remains of prehistoric plants and animals, and fossil fuels provide about 95% of the world's total energy. Alternative fuels are better for the environment and often better for the economy than fossil fuels. Learn about the controversies and conservation plans surrounding fossil fuels, and explore the alternatives.
Yes. Walking won't use up anywhere near as much fossil fuel as driving does, and won't contribute to pollution.
Fossil Fuels "pollute" the air when depending on waterfalls doesnt to anything to the environment.
Pollution and the destruction of the environment.
Yes it is a fossil fuel.
None are good =} but the best i think is coal?
by excess cutting of trees, dam building, fossil fuel etc damaging and poluting environment
unsafe cause it lets out greenhouse gases
